How Scream Shelf works
Scream Shelf tracks horror releases on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from boutique labels and shows what they cost at US and UK shops. It's built for buyers in the US, UK and Ireland. US visitors see US shops and US$ prices first; UK and Ireland visitors see UK shops and £ first. Switch with the US / UK toggle at the top of the page. Prices stay in each shop's own currency: we don't convert, and none of the shops we read price in euros.
Where the data comes from
- Vinegar Syndrome store (Shopify products.json, US$): 608 listings.
- Diabolik DVD horror category (WooCommerce Store API, US$), a US retailer: 384 listings.
- Arrow Films UK horror category pages: 245 listings.
- Rarewaves horror collection (Shopify products.json), a UK retailer carrying many labels: 244 listings.
- Severin US store (Shopify products.json, US$): 211 listings.
- 88 Films store (Shopify products.json): 154 listings.
- Second Sight store (Shopify products.json): 135 listings.
- Arrow Video US horror category pages (US$): 88 listings.
- Powerhouse Films / Indicator store (Shopify products.json): 79 listings.
- Eureka store (WooCommerce Store API): 52 listings.
- Severin UK store (Shopify products.json): 21 listings.
- Zavvi horror shop pages: 14 listings.
- Retailer listings (Zavvi, Rarewaves, Diabolik) are only shown when they match a label's own listing on title, format and edition (limited or standard, Steelbook or not). Anything we can't match confidently is left out.
- Horror means the shop's own horror tag or category. For Powerhouse, which has no genre tags, it means the product text describes the film as horror.
- We only show release dates the shop prints. If there isn't one, we say so.
- We only list shops we can read prices from. Title pages also link to Amazon UK and Amazon.com searches, but we don't show Amazon prices.
- Our fetcher identifies itself as
ScreamShelfBot, follows each site's robots.txt and makes a small number of requests spread through the day.
Affiliate disclosure
As an Amazon Associate, Scream Shelf earns from qualifying purchases on Amazon.com and Amazon UK. The “Check Amazon.com” and “Check Amazon UK” links on title pages are affiliate links, so if you buy through one, Scream Shelf may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Other shop links go straight to the shop for now. If we add more affiliate programmes (for example Awin for Arrow), we'll list them here. Affiliate links never change which shop is listed as cheapest: shops in your region come first, then the order is by price.
Your email
If you sign up for the weekly email or a price alert, we store your email address and the title you picked. Nothing has been sent yet, and we'll never sell your address.
